I was sexually abused by my grandfather.  I told no one.  I thought I was keeping a family secret and protecting the family.  I was wrong.  It was was killing me on the inside.  30 years later I found out that my entire family knew who and what my Grandfather was capable of.  No One in my family protected me.  I suffered in silence for nothing.
